So with that being said, you might be able to more easily understand my excitement when I found out that the prolific and well loved WCF series was to release their first volume of GT inspired releases. This series is long running, quality and they’re long over due for a wave of Dragon Ball GT themed releases.

This first volume in the WCF Dragon Ball GT series consists of:

• Super Saiyan 4 Goku
• Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta
• Kid Goku
• Super Android 17
• Trunks
• Pan

These figures will be dropping with a Japanese release date of May, 2020. North American collectors can expect them to release about a month later in April.

But I digress, let’s talk about the statue. The statue features a Great Monkey Baby as the center piece, with a Super Saiyan 4 Son Goku, which is dwarfed by Great Monkey Baby’s size. What’s really cool, is that mail order customers will receive an addition Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta at no additional cost. The bad news? The pre-order is selling out fast.

Here’s some statistics on the figure for you:

..and without further ado check out this image gallery:

What are your thoughts in the quality and craftsmanship shown here; as opposed to other offerings on the market place? I’d love to hear resin collectors weigh in on the subject in the comments section.

OH! .. Merry Christmas, everyone. Happy Holidays.

However, the disappointment in quality from Bandai continues. Instead of the traditional box that would house a figure like this, the figure will be sold in a… uh.. bag:

It’d be one thing if the figure still had the impressive coloring and shading that we saw in the prototype and early promotional photos of the figure. But now we’re being subjected to sub par packaging, sub par painting and coloring with a premium price level.

What are your thoughts? Most people wouldn’t display this in the packaging anyway, however many collectors save those boxes for a multitude of reasons. What’s your stance on all of this? Sound off in the comments section.

The set is comprised of Son Goku, Trunks, Gil, Pan and their spaceship. We can expect these figures to drop next year in April, 2020 at a cost of 6820JPY. The price is a little bit higher as this set is being marketed as a Premium HG set, as opposed to the standard HG sets that run much lower in price.

The Details:

HG Dragon Ball GT
Release Date: April, 2020
Price: 6820JPY
Height:
– Son Goku (50 mm)
– Pan (65 mm)
– Trunks (80 mm)
– Gil (32 mm)
– Spaceship (150 mm)

In short, there appeared to be some disparity between the colorization on the Oozaru Goku figure’s prototype and the final production version, which was photographed at a recent toy show. I’m personally of the opinion that the prototype looked better. That being said, I believe some of these photos of the final production version were taken under lighting conditions that were rather unflattering.

Regardless of the lighting situation, the differences between the prototype photos of Oozaru Goku and the final version are vast. The prototype features a much more rich paint job, appearing actually golden! It would appear the final production version is taking on a much more yellow tone.

You can judge for yourself, using the photo gallery below. The photos were taken using a few different cameras, with and without flash and under different lighting conditions.

These figures are dropping November, 2019!

Looks like we’ll be seeing new offerings from the new World Collectable Diorama line as well. This is a relatively new line, as this is only Volume 4. WCD is some what of a companion to the long running World Collectable Figure line. These are similar in height, standing at 7cm each. They differ from the World Collectable Figure line as they as have a base that is stylized after landscapes, rather than a plain red base.

November will also be bringing us this brilliant Grandista Gotenks figure, which comes with a Super Saiyan head and a powered down head. Measuring in at 19cm in height:

Plus this Dragon Ball GT version of Goku performing the Dragon Fist. Two versions offered: a powered down and a Super Saiyan version. Measuring in at 13cm in height:

November also will be bringing us Retsuden Chapter 5 Ultimate Fusion Warrior. This is the advertisement that mentioned the upcoming Retsuden Chapter 6 release, that we mentioned above, in the lower right hand corner:

Lastly, November will be bringing us a Super Dragon Ball Heroes 9th ANNIVERSARY FIGURE- Super Saiyan 4 Son Goku: Xeno:

What’s more is that the fourth prize will be a giant Sofvics Golden Oozaru figure that measures in at 30cm in height! It’s worth noting that this measurement is just to the top of the Oozaru’s head and doesn’t include the additional height from his raised arms. The other three Masterlise figures measure in slightly shorter, at 25cm in height for Goku and Gogeta and 23cm for Vegeta.

As you can see, the promotional logo for this Ichiban Kuji is a play on the original North American market Dragon Ball GT logo:

Interestingly, they are marketing this Ichiban Kuji with the Dragon Ball Super logo as well. This is unsurprising, as Bandai wants to promote the current Dragon Ball series, but for long time fans it seems irrelevant, especially considering none of these forms have been shown in Dragon Ball Super to date.

How Does Ichiban Kuji Work?

Interested in how the Ichiban Kuji works? Read on!

Ichiban Kuji is a “prize lottery” system that historically is exclusive to Japan and a few other countries. As of this writing, the Ichiban Kuji prize lottery is not available in North America.

Interested participants should visit participating locations, usually convenience stores in Japan like 7/11, Lawson’s or Ito-Yokado. Each prize lottery ticket retails for 680 JPY~ and gives you the chance to win one of the prizes offered. Once you receive your entry ticket, find out which prize you have won, you may immediately redeem it for said prize.

Once all of the standard prizes have been given away, the last prize is offered and is aptly known as the “Last One Prize”. This motivates participants to continue buying Ichiban Kuji tickets, even when it appears that many of the other prizes have already been given away. Keep in mind, not every incarnation of the Ichiban Kuji Prize Lottery has a “Last Prize”, though it is often an offered feature in larger prize lotteries.
