So if you ordered any of the SDCC online S.H. Figuarts UI Sign Goku or Android 17/18 as well as Kid Gohan and you received notice from Premium Bandai this week with the notification that these figures would be delayed, the reason has been revealed.
According to the article from Anime News Network, these figures were on the Japanese ship One Apus. So what happened to the One Apus?
The ONE Apus was underway to from Yantian, China to Long Beach, California when it encountered severe weather approximately 1,600 nautical miles northwest of Hawaii. Heavy rolling caused approximately 1,816 containers to become dislodged.
This is what the ship looks like as it was returning back to Osaka, Japan, on December 8th. Hopefully some of the figures are in one of those shipping containers still on the ship and if not, well it will be a while before they can remake them all again. Also, none of the containers have been sighted yet so they are probably sitting at the bottom of the ocean now.
I got UI Goku Sign during the first release, but my Android 17/18 and Kid Gohan was on that ship. This just adds to my dislike of Premium Bandai USA. And they really need to use DHL next time LoL!
