Tamashii Nations reported via their official Japanese website that a virtual reality event called “Tamashii Features 2020” would be taking place on July 4th and 5th. The event features the slogan “Now is the Time to Enjoy Figures at Home” and appears to be replacing the in person version of the Tamashii Features annual festival in Bellesalle, Akihabara; due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
One of the more significant aspects of the event, is that they will have exclusive figures for sale. The offerings include an S.H. Figuarts Iron Man and…. an S.H. Figuarts Kid Goku?! Nani?!?
Not just any Kid Goku, but the Kid Goku they used as an SDCC Exclusive last year. You read that right. For the first time ever, Tamashii Nations is re-using and re-hashing a previous exclusive. Well.. unless you count the Mexican Goku release, but that release at least featured updated packaging.
It wouldn’t appear that the Kid Goku figure is going to be any different from the SDCC release at this point, though it remains unseen as to whether or not it will receive new packaging for the Tamashii Features event.
The “exclusive” Kid Goku and Iron Man figures will be available in the Tamashii Soul Web Shop, with Kid Goku retailing for 3,850JPY. Which is marginally cheaper than we’ve seen him priced at across third party websites like eBay. Additionally, there will be a presale for these exclusive ahead of the event.
Exclusives go on presale June 17th for Club Tamashii Members, but everyone else can pre-order on June 19th, so be ready if you still haven’t snagged this figure and want it.
Additionally, the event purports to feature a lot of new reveals for future releases and will allow for “visitors” of the “exhibition” to walk through the event without having to wait in line. You can expect Tamashii Nations exhibitions for all the usual suspects like Dragon Ball, Avengers, Star Wars and other lines.
