Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Series Was Born On The PS2

This interview with Daisuke Uchiyama, President & CEO of Bandai Namco Studios Inc., about his rise through his career working various positions at the company. In Japan, you dont always work the same job and you tend to get rotated around to different divisions so you have a chance to see the operations of all parts of the company.

He created the Budokai Series or just Z in Japan for the PS2 at a time when no new manga or anime was being released for the title, but it was airing in the US and the game did very well in the United States. They only made three and gives his reasoning in the interview why.

Uchiyama answers some questions at the end and one of his more interesting comments was being able to play as the bad guy, which i thought The Breakers tried to do. With the success of open world games, it would be nice if they could expand on Kakarot and let you play as the bad guys as well for whole missions instead of just certain parts, like playing as Vegeta on Namek.

Overall, this was an interesting interview with one of the top guys at Bandai Namco. Let me know what you thought in the comments. And you can read the entire interview below:
