Today, we’ll take a look at what’s happening in the world of Dragon Ball during the week of August 10. But first, let’s check out some news from last week.
Saikyo Jump September Edition Now Available
Saikyo Jump’s September edition hit stores in Japan on Tuesday, August 4.
The issue features a special look at Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World, including the Alt-Art cards featured in STORY BOOSTER 01, the latest booster set.
The magazine also includes a bonus “Vegeta” card, along with a decklist pairing it with one of the set’s new Leader cards.
Meanwhile, Dragon Ball Super Divers takes the spotlight with a feature on the SEC cards from its 11th set, “Transcendent Attack,” as well as the cards included in the Battle of Saiyans Advance Pack.
The issue also comes with a 3-card Ultimate Triple Battle Pack featuring “Goku,” “Vegeta,” and “Goku Black,” so be sure to pick up a copy if you can.
Fans of the manga can also enjoy the latest chapters of “Let’s! Super Dive!!” and Dragon Ball SD. The magazine is packed with even more information on Dragon Ball games, Gashapon®, and other Dragon Ball-related news.
“Let’s! Super Dive!!” Volume 3 Released
“Let’s! Super Dive!!” Volume 3 was also released in Japan on Tuesday, August 4, the same day as the September edition of Saikyo Jump.
The battles between protagonist Asuka and his rivals are really heating up in this volume. Beeta, the protagonist of SDBH: Avatars!!, also makes an appearance.
The volume even comes with a bonus “Majin Buu: Good” card.
S.H. Figuarts Full-Power Frieza Orders Open
Orders opened in Japan on Tuesday, August 4, for S.H.Figuarts Full-Power Frieza -Battle Scarred Edition-, which was first made available for order at San Diego Comic-Con.
The figure has been painted to recreate the injuries Frieza suffered during his fierce battle on Planet Namek, giving his expression an especially intense look. It also comes with a variety of interchangeable parts for the wrists, head, and more.
There’s an additional bonus for fans who own S.H.Figuarts SUPER SAIYAN GOKU -LEGENDARY SUPER SAIYAN- (sold separately): an interchangeable face part that lets you pose the two figures together and recreate scenes from the series.
Fusion World STORY BOOSTER 01 Now on Sale
Fusion World’s latest booster set, STORY BOOSTER 01, hit stores in Japan on Saturday, August 8.
The English version is scheduled to launch on Friday, August 21.

Hi everyone! I’m Ueda from Bandai’s Card Division and the development producer for DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World.
Today, I’d like to talk about the cards in STORY BOOSTER 01, which went on sale August 8.
A STORY BOOSTER is a special type of booster set that focuses on the story of Dragon Ball. This set centers around Dragon Ball Z’s Majin Buu arc.
Today, I’d like to take a moment to show off some of the Alt-Art cards included in the set.
Let’s start with the Alt-Art versions of the five Leader cards: “Son Goten,” “Vegito,” “Majin Buu/Majin Buu: Pure Evil,” “Broly,” and “Vegeta.”
In a first for Fusion World, the Alt-Art Leader cards in this set feature a holographic foil finish on both sides.
Here’s what they look like after awakening!
As you can see, “Majin Buu/Majin Buu: Pure Evil” awakens into “Majin Buu: Evil.”
The illustrations cover the entire card, and the special finish gives these cards an especially striking appearance.
Next, let’s take a look at some special Alt-Art cards unique to the STORY BOOSTER sets.
These are the Alt-Art SR cards, featuring illustrations inspired by original animation cels.
On the left is the standard version, while the Alt-Art version is shown on the right.
But there are even more special Alt-Art cards waiting to be found in STORY BOOSTER booster packs!
These designs are inspired by anime openings and other memorable scenes from the series.

Fusion World Championship Regional Preliminary Tokyo Tournament
On Saturday, August 15, the DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World’s Championship 26-27 Wave 2 Regional Preliminary Tokyo 3-on-3 Tournament will be held.
Players will battle in teams of three for the chance to advance to the Japan Finals.
The event will also be streamed on Fusion World’s official YouTube channel, so be sure to keep an eye out for the broadcast.
