Dragon Ball News for the Week of January 5, 2026

Hey everyone. This is the first episode of Weekly Dragon Ball News for 2026 featuring Toyotarou, co-creator of Dragon Ball Super, and VAROQ from the Ichigan production team, and the spotlight was firmly on one thing: the Ultimate Father-Son Kamehameha figure.

Created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Dragon Ball Super manga, the figure brings Toyotarou’s original illustration to life in three dimensions. It will be available as a special offer through V Jump’s super-sized February issue in Japan, making it a true anniversary collectible.

Toyotarou was blown away by the final result, calling it better than he ever imagined. Even though his illustration only showed the front, the sculpt feels perfectly consistent from every angle, amplifying the power and impact beyond the original drawing.

VAROQ shared that the biggest challenge was translating the complex pose, especially the leg positioning, into a balanced figure. From the side and back, subtle choices shine: the hand placement creates the illusion of a single massive energy wave, adult Gohan’s longer reach is carefully accounted for, and classic Cell arc details like Gohan’s injured arm are faithfully respected.

The back of the figure was given just as much attention, with Dragon Ball’s signature muscle structure, strong knees, and dynamic hair sculpting that conveys the blast’s force from every angle. Small storytelling touches, like Gohan’s limp left arm and wind-blown hair, help sell the intensity of the moment.

Coloring was another major focus. The hair colors for Beast Gohan and Ultra Instinct Goku are subtly adjusted to reflect their personalities, and glowing highlights along their hands and arms recreate the blinding light of the Kamehameha itself.

Both creators agreed the figure’s biggest strength is its imagination-driven nature. It isn’t tied to any existing battle, letting fans decide who could possibly push Goku and Gohan, in their strongest forms, to this level of damage. From battle-worn bodies to godlike finger poses and intense expressions, every detail was crafted to feel uniquely Dragon Ball.

The Ultimate Father-Son Kamehameha MASTERLISE -OUTSIDE- figure will be available to applicants through V Jump’s super-sized February issue, with more details also shared on the Dragon Ball Official Site. A rare moment, a rare team-up, and a figure designed to feel legendary.

That’s it for this week’s Dragon Ball News, thanks for tuning in and we hope you have a Super Week!
