To mark the 200th release in the SHFiguarts Dragon Ball series, a special deluxe set is stepping into the spotlight. This commemorative package pairs a deep-dive history book chronicling the entire S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball lineup with a fully articulated 3D figure inspired by an illustration from Akira Toriyama himself. It’s a celebration of where the series has been and how far it’s come. The included history book, titled DRAGON BALL SHFiguarts Collection, is a full-color archive featuring every SHFiguarts Dragon Ball figure released to date. Sized to match Jump Comics, it’s designed to sit neatly on your shelf alongside the original Dragon Ball manga. Beyond the visuals, the book offers interviews and columns from the production team, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the passion and craftsmanship that shaped the line.
Also featured is the story behind the “Son Goku: Beyond the Adventure” statue, brought to life by an all-star sculpting team with deep roots in Dragon Ball figure production. The project was led by sculptor Hiroyuki Nakazawa of STUDIO-Ren, creative director Yusuke Watanabe of WATANABOX, and sculptor Ren Kato, also of STUDIO-Ren. The centerpiece of the set is the movable figure, S.H. Figuarts Son Goku (Beyond the Adventure). Based on a rare illustration drawn by Akira Toriyama for the “Catchphrase Grand Prix” in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 23, 1989, this version of Goku is being transformed into a fully articulated figure for the very first time. It’s a fresh take on a classic image, now realized in three dimensions.
The figure incorporates the latest S.H. Figuarts articulation technology throughout the chest, shoulders, waist, and knees, striking a careful balance between dynamic posing and visual accuracy. The shoulders are equipped with the Dynamic-Movable Shoulder System, allowing for powerful action poses, including dramatic Kamehameha stances.
To heighten the sense of motion, the staff is included in both a standard and curved version, while the waist cape comes in both normal and fluttering forms. A generous selection of interchangeable facial expressions and wrist parts rounds out the display options.
