Welcome to a new episode of Weekly Dragon Ball News! Let’s dive into everything happening in the Dragon Ball universe for the week of January 19th. But first, a quick look back at some highlights from last week.
Season 3 of DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA launched on Wednesday, January 14th. This competitive online title throws players into intense 4-on-4 team battles, and Season 3 brings a major addition to the roster. Super Vegito joins the fight as a new hero, able to transform starting at level 1, letting him power up and dominate right from the early game. New skins and emotes also arrived, so be sure to check out the latest customization options.
Next, on Thursday, January 15th, the newest paid DLC for DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT went live: “- DAIMA – Adventure Through the Demon Realm Part 2.” This second chapter of the additional story lets players experience the battles of Dragon Ball DAIMA within KAKAROT, a title that has now sold over 10 million units worldwide. Part 2 features a ferocious showdown between Goku and Giant Gomah in the First Demon World. Don’t miss it.
Other hot topics from last week include a new LEGENDS STEP-UP summon, “TRIAL OF THE SECOND DEMON WORLD,” now live in DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, and brand-new Dragon Ball SD chapters released on Saikyo Jump’s official YouTube channel over the weekend.

V Jump’s super-sized March issue hits shelves on Wednesday, January 21st in Japan. This packed edition includes a special feature on Dragon Ball Super Divers, with details on the 8th set, GDR cards, and more. It also comes with a bonus Vegeta card for Divers and is loaded with the latest Dragon Ball updates, covering Fusion World, GEKISHIN SQUADRA, figures, snack toys, and much more.
Dragon Ball Super Divers launches its 8th set on Thursday, January 22nd. This set is inspired by the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie and features powerful new cards, including the highly anticipated “Gogeta: BR.” History Dive also expands with the Future Trunks arc, giving players even more to explore.
Looking ahead, the final results of the DRAGON BALL THE ONE poll will be revealed on Saturday, January 24th. This worldwide character popularity poll began on November 20th, marking the anniversary of Dragon Ball’s serialization. The results will be announced live on the official Dragon Ball YouTube channel, with Toyotarou and myself, Victory Uchida, presenting the final rankings. Be sure to tune in.
On Sunday, January 25th, Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri will take place. This invitation-only, free-admission event marks the grand finale of Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary celebrations and will be held at Makuhari Messe. While ticket applications have already closed, Toei Animation’s official YouTube channel will livestream the stage events, so everyone can join the excitement. Expect major announcements and big news. I’ll be appearing at the Weekly Dragon Ball News: Special Edition stage, where I’ll be showing off a wide range of the latest merchandise. There will also be an exhibit of Toriyama’s original artwork and exclusive merch for sale, making this a must-see event for any Dragon Ball fan.
Other notable news this week includes the release of Dragon Ball Acrylic Carabiner Gummies on Monday, January 19th, upcoming Dragon Ball Super Divers 40th Anniversary Edition deck boxes and Divers Passports on Saturday, January 24th, the Dragon Ball Super Divers Limited Cup 2025–2026 Finals on Sunday, January 25th, and a new “Toyotarou Tried to Draw!” feature arriving later this month.
