Dragon Ball News for the Week of December 22, 2025

Hey everyone. It’s once again, time for Weekly Dragon Ball News.

Let’s take a look at everything happening in the Dragon Ball world during the week of December 22nd. Before we jump into brand-new updates, though, there’s some big news carried over from last week that deserves the spotlight.

Voting for the Final Stage of the worldwide character popularity poll, DRAGON BALL THE ONE, officially opened on Wednesday, December 17th. Today’s top story is all about this climactic showdown.

DRAGON BALL THE ONE began on November 20th to celebrate the anniversary of Dragon Ball’s original publication. Its mission is simple but fierce: decide the single most popular Dragon Ball character in the world. The poll has unfolded as a four-stage elimination battle, with characters advancing based on votes. To keep things exciting, each stage also featured a Revival Battle that allowed one eliminated character to return. Kami made a comeback after Stage One, and Shenron rose again after Stage Two.

Fans from across the globe have cast their votes, and now the competition is entering its final moments. As of Monday, December 22nd, only 21 characters remain, all fighting for the ultimate title. Voting stays open until Wednesday, December 24th at 11:59 AM JST, so there’s still time to make your voice heard.

While the poll is underway, fans are also encouraged to send in their love through art. Illustrations, photos, and other creative works featuring your favorite characters can be posted on X using the hashtag #DB1_ART. A selection of these submissions will be featured on the official DRAGON BALL THE ONE website. Support your favorites with both votes and art right up until the very end.

Next up, V Jump’s super-sized February issue hit shelves in Japan on Friday, December 19th, and it’s packed with Dragon Ball goodness. The big highlight is a special celebration for the 10th anniversary of Dragon Ball Super. Fans can apply to purchase an exclusive figure based on a Toyotarou illustration of Goku and Gohan in their ultimate forms unleashing a father-son Kamehameha. The Ichiban Kuji MASTERLISE brand brought this powerful moment to life as a figure, making it a must-have for collectors.

The issue also showcases all the must-see cards from Dragon Ball Super Divers’ 7th set and DBSCG Fusion World, along with a bonus “Trunks: Future” card for Fusion World. On top of that, it’s loaded with Dragon Ball news, including updates on games like DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA and more.

Moving along, the Dragon Ball S.H.Figuarts Miniature Collection began appearing in Gashapon machines across Japan during the third week of December. These tiny collectibles recreate the S.H.Figuarts Dragon Ball figures at just 5 centimeters tall, complete with detailed mini boxes. If you spot a Gashapon corner, it’s worth checking to see if they’re there.

Here are some of last week’s other hot topics. A new trailer dropped for DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT’s additional story, DAIMA: Adventure Through the Demon Realm Part 2, on Monday, December 15th. Majin Vegeta joined crane games with the Dragon Ball Z Grandista figure on Tuesday, December 16th, followed by the Dragon Ball Z History Box Vegito figure on Tuesday, December 18th. Jump Festa 2026 took place from December 20th to 21st, and later in the month, Toyotarou shared another entry in the “Tried to Draw” series.

Now on to this week’s news. Legendary Super Saiyan Broly storms into DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA on Wednesday, December 24th. This ultra-intense team battle game lets players fight alongside friends across multiple platforms, including smartphones and home consoles. Broly joins the roster during the currently ongoing Season 2, adding even more chaos to the battlefield.

Next, Ichiban Kuji Dragon Ball 40th -Tale Two- begins rolling out to stores across Japan on Saturday, December 27th. This second entry in the 40th anniversary series celebrates the charm of Akira Toriyama’s illustrations with a lineup of exclusive items. The set includes figures recreating iconic scenes for various characters, and the Last One Prize is a standout Shenron figure based on the moment when Pilaf’s wish hilariously fails. The attached comic panels showing Shenron granting wishes make it especially memorable.

Finally, keep an eye on the website for upcoming articles, including updates to the Toriyama Archives, which refresh every other day. Release dates may change, so stay tuned.

That’s it for this week’s Dragon Ball News, thanks for tuning in and we hope you have a Super Week!
