A New Era of Dragon Ball Gaming Begins
Kicking off last week’s major news was the official launch of DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA, which began service on Wednesday, September 10. This marks a significant evolution in Dragon Ball gaming with the introduction of 4 vs. 4 team battles where players compete to capture the opposing team’s Dragon Ball.
In an industry first, the game supports cross-play across multiple platforms, from smartphones and home consoles to PCs. Early previews have been featured in special editions of Weekly Dragon Ball News, currently available on the official site for those looking to explore the gameplay mechanics and team-based strategies.
LEGENDS Welcomes a Golden Power Surge
On September 12, Dragon Ball Legends launched a new summoning event:
LEGENDS STEP-UP – THUNDERING GOLDEN SURGE. The spotlight here is on Super Saiyan 3 Goku (from Dragon Ball GT) in his LEGENDS LIMITED form. His intense battle animations and a dramatic Legendary Finish, complete with transformation into a Golden Great Ape, add cinematic flair to the gameplay.
Joining the summon lineup are Dende and Yajirobe, supporting characters now featured as part of the game’s new “supporters” system. Their inclusion introduces fresh tactical possibilities for team builds.
Fusion World’s Latest Set Makes Its Debut
The seventh booster set for DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World, titled WISH FOR SHENRON (FB07), hit shelves in Japan on September 13, with an English-language release set for September 19.
Notable highlights include new Leader Cards featuring Glorio from Dragon Ball DAIMA and Piccolo from SUPER HERO. Most intriguing, however, is the introduction of Shenron as a “Black” Leader card. True to the spirit of the series, players can awaken Shenron by collecting all seven “Dragon Ball” Extra cards from the Drop zone, a direct nod to the lore’s iconic wish-granting process.
Merchandise Updates – Figures and Collectibles
Fans of collectible figures should take note of two recent releases available through crane games in Japan:

- Dragon Ball Z SOLID EDGE WORKS -THE SHUTSUJIN- Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks (available from September 11)
Both items come with the usual disclaimer regarding availability and product information, which is subject to change without notice.
