Tamashii Nations Teases Possible SHFiguarts ‘Frieza’ Re-Issue

Tamashii Nations updated their Instagram account today with what many purport to be a re-issue of their long out of production “Frieza” figure. While the figure does look extremely similar to the original release, many believe this post to be a teaser of an updated version due to the purple paint on the shoulders, correcting what many felt was a glaring flaw in the original release:

The most convincing piece of evidence is in the text of Tamashii Nations’ post:

■NEW YORK COMIC CON 2017■
S.H.Figuarts Frieza😏😏😏😏is coming!!
Are you ready for NYCC 2017?!!!see you soon in venue!!
❤OCT 5th ~8th at Javits Center. ❤
☆Early Release Items will be sell at booth #1612 of Bluefin
★GET MEI SHO MANGA REALIZATION special poster at Marvel booth #1354 (sorry you can’t get Bluefin booth)

Where my questions lay, are as to whether or not this figure is going to be for sale at New York Comic-Con, or if it will simply be making its debut at the show. If it is for sale at NYCC 2017, will it be New York Comic-Con’s first Dragon Ball SH Figuarts exclusive? It looks like we will have to wait until the show to find out..

  1. I’m sure this is a 2.0 version and not a repaint. Not only a different mold, but the screaming face on this one is different from the original.
