A reader of the site and now contributor to the site, has updated me with some new info on Bandai’s Figure Rise Standard model kit line up.
Here’s what Matthew had to say:
New advert for the Bandai Figure-rise Standard Goku and Frieza model kits.
It reveals Series 1 will consist of Super Saiyan Goku, who will be 18cm tall (including hair) and Final Form Frieza who will be 13cm tall. They come with accessories such as Kamehameha parts and extra hands.
Series 2 will consist of Super Saiyan 2 Gohan and Perfect Cell.
Then Series 3 will consist of SSJ3 Goku and Kid Buu but with an unknown release date.
A Vegeta figure wasnt announced, however judging by the mock nature of the advert, and how developed the Vegeta prototype shown at the Japanese toy fair looked, I wouldn’t be surprised with a spontaneous release of him.
Additionally; a week ago images of Series 2 arrived online showing the newly revised Gohan and Cell figures in actual model kit form (instead of just prototype statues).
They are both set to release in September, 2016. The Cell figure is priced at around 2,800 yen and Gohan at 2,200 yen, however I would expect a change in price closer to release date similar to how Goku and Freiza’s price was altered.
In addition, based on the time intervals between series I would expect series 3 to arrive around Christmas if the sets are successful and would expect a two month gap between series on average.
Big thanks to Matthew for this fantastic piece of news! We may be seeing more news contributions from him in the future. Make sure to send some kind words his way via the comments below.
Have a safe 4th of July!
