Distribuidora Animexico Announces SH Figuarts Super Saiyan 2 Trunks for 2016?

Interesting news from Distribuidora Animexico, the official distributor for Tamashii Nations in Mexico. They’ve posted on their official Twitter account that we will be seeing an S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan 2 Trunks figure in 2016!

But, wait, Trunks never went Super Saiyan 2, you say? That’s absolutely correct! So hopefully Animexico is just confused and are referring to “Ascended Trunks” or something. Only time will tell.

We will post more news as it becomes available. Until then, check out the official Tweet below:

Majin Rob you can read spanish? 😆

    • MajinRob

Haha, just enough to get by. I took a lot of Spanish in college and some of it stuck with me.

That’s good! I’m Latino so I applaud you on learning Spanish.

”But, wait, Trunks never went Super Saiyan 2, you say? That’s absolutely correct!”

Incorrect! I don’t know if peoples here know something about the many video games released so far but Future Trunks was given the Super Saiyan 2 form in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 and the following Budokai games. Xeno Trunks can also use the form in Dragon Ball Heroes, attained in the fourth mission of the God Mission series. Compared to his Super Saiyan form, his hair straightens up and become more spiker in Super Saiyan 2. This form is also used in Dragon Ball Discross.

I dont consider the video games canon, I suppose I should have specified, as I am aware of the Budokai transformation.

      • wesker1984

Me too i i do not consider the video games being canon but with the recent revelations of a upcoming SSJ3 Vegeta from SH Figuarts they seems to have decided to exploits characters and forms from other medias of the Dragon Ball franchise.

I should also add that I’m very glad theyre venturing into this territory. Even if this figure doesnt make production, I still like to see that Tamashii is open minded about what they consider for release.

I desperately want that SS4 Goku though. I’m a huge fan of the DBGT character designs.

          • wesker1984

Me too! ^^ You feel surelly like me in this case but like you i desperately want that SSJ4 Goku and i hope for a possible release of a SSJ4 Vegeta, SSJ4 Gogeta, Super Baby Vegeta, Super 17, Omega Shenron and GT Uub! I prefer DBZ as a series but i love DBGT too and the SSJ4 forms is one of my favorites!

          • MajinRob

I always feel like a bit of an outsider as I love DBGT too. Most other fans I meet seem to hate it.

          • wesker1984

I know how you feel! The same goes for me, some of them think i don’t know what Dragon Ball is just because i love GT. Sure the series itself have flaws but the concept and ideas was just perfect. The problems with the series is the lack of evolutions from some of its past major characters besides Goku, Vegeta and Uub.

To be perfect the series should have done this in its short life span:

            – Not killing permanently Piccolo.
            – Trunks and Goten achieving the SSJ2 forms before the start of the series
            – Adult Gotenks
            – Trunks achieving the SSJ3 forms during the Baby saga
            – Pan becoming a Super Saiyan
            – More use of Tien and Yamcha
            – SSJ4 Gohan

I know how you feel. I think it’s funny when people try to question my fandom for Dragon Ball as I’ve been following it for 15 years, which is longer than some fans have actually been alive.

I think DBGT gets too much hate for what it didnt do and not enough love for what it DID do. It pushed the series into new territory, had great designs, actually had plot, developed under used characters and had a female lead.

          • wesker1984

Exactly! Like you i follow the series since 15 years and it is also my thoughts about GT in general. Even with it flaws, i greatly accept GT as the sequel of DBZ! I feel bad thinking that the team behind DB Super decided to ignore and erase the timeline of DBGT since DBGT was the only series to actually take place after the end of DBZ.
